My Paintings:

Through the tension between form and space on the canvas, my intention is to encourage the viewer to contemplate the visual story laid out in each piece. By piquing their emotions, viewers are invited to consider the meaning within the painting and to develop their own interpretation. I endeavor to create art that is both aesthetically pleasing and leaves one to question the artwork itself. Melded together are my classical training and inner emotions, with the drive to put those into art. My preference for using figurative themes and then abstracting them connects my earlier work to my most recent paintings.
